WASHINGTON – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today proposed standards under the Clean Water Act to help cut discharges of dental amalgam to the environment. Amalgam is a mixture of mercury and other metals that dentists use to fill cavities. Mercury is discharged when dentists remove old fillings or remove excess amalgam when placing a new filling.
Studies show about half the mercury that enters Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs) comes from dental offices. Mercury from amalgam can then make its way into the environment in a number of ways, including through discharge to water bodies. Contact with some microorganisms can help create methylmercury, a highly toxic form of mercury that builds up in fish, shellfish and fish-eating animals. Fish and shellfish are the main sources of human exposure to methylmercury.
Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors and the Risk of Osseointegrated Implant Failure-A Cohort Study
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), the most widely used drugs for the treatment of depression, have been reported to reduce bone formation and increase the risk of bone fracture. Since osseointegration is influenced by bone metabolism, this study aimed to investigate the association between SSRIs and the risk of failures in osseointegrated implants.
This retrospective cohort study was conducted on patients treated with dental implants from January 2007 to January 2013. A total of 916 dental implants in 490 patients (94 implants on 51 patients using SSRIs) were used to estimate the risk of failure associated with the use of SSRIs.

For those not aware I am an avid Krav Maga practitioner.
I have been training in this self defense system for over 3 years and love it.
This past weekend Nashville Krav Maga and Brazilian Ju Jitsu hosted a Home Invasion Seminar led by Mr. John Whitman (5th degree Black Belt, president of Krav Maga Alliance, and general badass).
This 8 hour seminar was a high speed review of basic Krav Maga principles and techniques that were put to the test in various home invasion scenarios.

Last Friday I had a few minutes to kill and was browsing Facebook.
In the process I ran across a very cool infographic.
It got me to wondering “How are these created and who does this kind of work?”
Within 90 minutes I had created the simple infographic shown below.
This time included a few minutes to search “easy infographic design” sites, check out their offer, make a decision, and sign up.

I admit. I am a huge fan of Chick-fil-a. Not so much for their food but for their outstanding customer service.
They do such a great job I am always pointing out their outstanding customer service to my staff.
